Remember when Simon Cowell picked Britney Spears as his prized X Factor judge (even though Mariah Carey was reportedly in the running)?
And remember when Mariah, when asked about Simon’s decision the same day, responded shortly with:
“You think I focus on that stuff? Have we met? I love [Spears], honestly. I think she’s a very nice person, but I don’t care who’s going on that show – as long as it’s not me.”
Well…. according to MiMi, there is NO bad blood… only bad jokes!
As soon as she realized her comment left a lot of room for interpretation, she took to the stand Twitter to make it right, tweet-tweeting:
“@BritneySpears & @SimonCowell of course I luv+care about you dahhlings, congrats! U never know what’s true or gossip, I was joking around!”
Welp!! If she really meant any malice, she wouldn’t be trying so hard to cover it up. MiMi doesn’t need anyone’s love she doesn’t want, that’s for sure!!
So we believe she didn’t say it with bad intentions… just not a whole lot of tact. Hey, it happens!
